WNBA Star Brittney Griner and her previous marriage to Glory Johnson has been pretty well documented. The two stars connected with each other at a basketball camp in 2013 and they were engaged within a year. This was new for Johnson, who had not been in a same-sex relationship until then. The only reason she decided to go ahead as she felt she could rely on Griner more.

The two stars went out for the first time in Las Vegas and after some time, they were officially together. This was huge news at that time, as both of them were staring for their team. And this was even more exciting for Johnson, as this was something new to her.

Johnson says she was only attracted to Brittney Griner

When they were together, Johnson said she always appreciated when Griner understood and supported her career. She added that she used to do things which were both big and small, to show her love towards her. She also mentioned that her friends were skeptical at first. But that quickly changed.

She said, “When they actually met Brittney for the first time, they were like, ‘Oh, we get it now’. They were extremely welcoming.”

Griner also had huge words about Johnson. She said, “I can rely on her more than I can rely on people I’ve known my whole life. She just wants to make me better. I give her a struggle, but she’s patient with me.”

Johnson also added, “I still don’t really feel like I’m attracted to females in general. It’s just that I’m attracted to just one person.”

Both of them had huge words about each other and later they got engaged at a surprise party by Griner. However, things started to turn sour after that. The couple was separated due to playing in different countries. And they tried to make it work.

They did for a while before things turned even worse. They were both arrested on the charges of domestic violence but got married after reconnecting. But that too was very short-lived as they had to get a divorce months after getting married.
