The Los Angeles Clippers are looking to move forward in the right direction after the return of their star players. Currently, in the seventh position in the Western Conference, the Clippers have a 15-13 record as they face off against the Boston Celtics. The Celtics have the best record in the league and with the performances put forth by the Clippers’ star players, Boston might come away with another win.

The Clippers barely managed to defeat the Washington Wizards in their last matchup. Having lost two straight games prior to their matchup with the Wizards, the clippers did manage to avoid losing three games in a row.

Blake Griffin almost turned back the clock

However, the team’s season record is far from what they had hoped for. Injuries have kept their star players like Kawhi Leonard and John Wall out of rotation. Which has left all the offensive responsibilities on the shoulders of Paul George.

As the Clippers went up against the Celtics, they almost got a blast from the past from their former teammate, Blake Griffin. Griffin went up for a poster on Clipper bigman, Ivica Zubac but was unable to finish. One of the most iconic dunks by Griffin was his poster over Timofey Mozgov.

And it looked like Griffin wanted to turn back the clock to that time. Fans reacted to Griffin trying to relive his younger days. One fan tweeted, “He not young anymore.” While another fan commented, “Would’ve done it if he wore a Clippers jersey.”

Here are some more reactions from Twitter.

Fans almost got a treat of prime Blake Griffin when he was playing for the Los Angeles Clippers early in his career. Griffin was one of the most electrifying dunkers when he came into the NBA. He paired up with DeAndre Jordan and Chris Paul during his time in LA.

Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan used to live above the rim on offense. And Chris Paul orchestrated those lobs to perfection. Griffin managed to put a lot of players on the poster. He even dunked on Pau Gasol twice when he played for the Lakers which had him fuming. But back to where the Clippers are right now.

Paul George has been playing occasionally. Not too great to have breakout games but not so shabby that he receives criticism. However, George’s performance has not been enough to keep the Clippers afloat.

The Clippers still struggling in the season

Kawhi Leonard on the other hand is yet to come back to his original form. His averages this season have really taken a hit. Leonard is currently averaging a mere 11.6 PPG, 4.1 RPG, and 3.5 APG so far.

John Wall’s point production has taken a hit as well. His 12.6 PPG, 2.5 RPG, and 5.6 APG are far from his average point production on the floor. Though Wall has still been in the line-up for the Clippers, the same cannot be said for Kawhi Leonard.

Paul George has been leading the team in scoring with a 23.7 PPG average. Yet the Clippers are dead last in total points, averaging 107.7 points per game. The team is also in the second-last position in steals, averaging only 6.3 steals per game.
