The Nets were leading by three points in the fourth quarter when Kyrie Irving made a successful three-pointer with just about 43 seconds remaining on the clock. This gave the Nets a six-point lead against the Pelicans, who lost their fifth home game against the Nets.

The New Orleans Pelicans, 24-15, are currently not at their full strength following Zion Williamson’s injury. The Pelicans’ power forward is expected to be out for at least three weeks due to a right hamstring strain. In Williamson’s absence, Pelicans guard MJ McCollum scored 28 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists in the loss.

Teammate Naji Marshall added a career-high 23 points, 9 rebounds, and 1 assist. Jose Alvarado scored 17 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists.
