Jordan and DeRozan have a similar playstyle; a strong midrange game combined with efficient shooting. DeRozan pulling up on a defender or shooting a turnaround fadeaway 20 ft away from the basket eerily resembles the classic highlights of Jordan in the 90s. However, a similarity in stat pointed out by the Bulls official Twitter handle has upset a section of fans.

DeRozan picked up from where he left off last season and scored 37 points, 6 rebounds, and 9 assists in the season opener against the Miami Heat. He also set a new record in Bulls history of scoring over 30 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists in a season opener. DeRozan shares this achievement with one another player, Michael Jordan. DeRozan was considered by many on the decline in San Antonio. But all of them were proven wrong by the resurgence of the 5x All-star guard in Chicago. DeRozan had one of his best seasons with the Bulls last season. He averaged a career-high 27.9 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 4.9 assists for the entire season.
