The Chuckster also appreciated the serious radio which allows listeners to just listen to music.
Charles Barkley also revealed that back in his time, he never heard an NFL draft on the radio. In parts of his podcast, Barkley continued to state that listening to or following sports via radio wasn’t something he favored.
He claimed for it to be the stupidest thing in the world and said, “I’m a visual person when it comes to sports. I think that’s the stupidest thing in the world… I just wouldn’t want to listen to it on the radio.” He watched the drafts on the tv as he preferred visuals. According to Barkley, sports is entertaining to see and he only prefers to listen to music on the radio rather than listening to some sports commentary on it.
After the show was out, Barkley was slammed by Warriors’ radio announcer Tim Roye. Referring to Barkley, Roye said, “The stupidest thing in the world is to listen to Charles and take anything he says as if it has any thought behind it.”
