The Jordan brand is quite particular about who they offer a deal. The last big addition to the Jordan family was New Orleans Pelicans sensation, Zion Williamson. The brand offered Zion a humongous deal worth $75 million for seven years. Since then multiple other players have signed on with the brand as well.

But the latest one to hop on to becoming a part of the Jordan family is Orlando Magic rookie Paolo Banchero. He was the number one overall pick by the Orlando Magic in the 2022 NBA draft. A highly touted player out of Duke University, Paolo Banchero looks like he is following in the footsteps of Zion Williamson.

Paolo Banchero is now a part of the Jordan Family

Zion too played for Duke and then went on to sign with the Jordan brand. Banchero was named the rookie of the year of the Atlantic Coast Conference during his time in college. Listed at 6’10, Paolo becomes the fourth big man drafted by the Orlando Magic as the number one pick in the NBA draft.

The Orlando Magic have had four number-one draft picks in the history of the NBA draft. The team drafted Shaquille O’Neal in 1992 and then Chris Webber in the following year. Then jump up ahead to 2004 when the Magic drafted Dwight Howard. And now Paolo Banchero.

All three players prior to Paolo have had successful careers, winning multiple awards and getting selected in numerous all-star games. And by the looks of it, seems as if Paolo will be doing the same as well. 

Fans could not be more excited to see Paolo signing with Jordan as the brand does not offer a deal to many superstars out there in the league. One fan tweeted, “Ladies and gents, Orlando has officially found its star!”

While another fan commented, “Here for the rise of paolo and the soon to be 2023 champs the Orlando magic.” Fans clearly are excited to see Banchero come out with his signature line of sneakers.

While sitting down with Nick DePaula on ‘Boardroom’ he told the host that Zion Williamson and Jason Tatum played a huge role in his signing with Jordan. He is the third player out of Duke to sign a deal with the brand.
