On a recent episode of ‘Inside the NBA’ on TNT, Charles Barkley made a humorous attempt at a Boston accent, which had Shaquille O’Neal and Kenny Smith in fits of laughter. The broadcast was filmed at TD Garden. This was following the Boston Celtics’ victory over the Miami Heat in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals. As part of a segment, each participant had to read a sentence with a Boston accent.

Then it was Barkley’s turn. Barkley recited the amusing passage, “saw Ernie at Fenway Park eating chowder on top of the monster.” However, his Boston accent was amusing. Especially when he pronounced “monster” as “mon-stah.” Owing to this, Shaq was laughing so hard that he nearly lost his balance and fell over.
