After enticing spectators with his heroic displays on the hardwood, Shaquille O’Neal now continues to entertain fans with his talk shows and podcasts. Over the years, Shaq has established himself as a successful media personality. As a talk show host and an analyst, the former MVP is known for analyzing the sport and giving unfiltered opinions. What makes Shaq’s media ventures even more entertaining is O’Neal’s sense of humor. The recent episode of the Big Aristotle’s podcast is a case in point.

In the latest episode of The Big Podcast aired on Thursday, Shaquille O’Neal and his crew spoke about a plethora of topics pertaining to the NBA. Earlier in the week, the Western Conference powerhouses Phoenix Suns and Dallas Mavericks had locked horns in a thriller of a game. The Big Aristotle and his crew discussed the game. As the crew were delving deeper into the match, Shaq made a hilarious remark about his hip surgery which sent his co-hosts into a fit of laughter.

Shaquille O’Neal can’t wait to tell a joke

The Suns-Mavericks game will go down as one of the most intense games this season. Adding to the on-court intensity, Mavericks star Luka Doncic and the Suns’ Devin Booker ended up in a heated altercation. As the game was reaching a climax, the two stars started to confront each other. Soon, other players had to intervene and separate the two who were virtually nose to nose. Speaking of the iconic game and the heated altercation, Shaq told his crew that it was an example of the intense competition that fans love to see.

The clash of the Suns and the Mavericks aroused Shaq’s anticipation about the upcoming playoffs. DJ Diesel could not contain his excitement and told his crew how excited he was about watching the playoffs, “I just can’t wait till the playoffs start, we got March Madness coming up, we got my surgery coming up and after that it’s playoff basketball.”  

Alluding to Shaq’s surgery, NFL veteran and co-host Spice Adams intervened and asked Shaq if he was getting a Brazilian Butt-Lift procedure.

“Nah, I am getting a hip surgery. I will tell you what, if you pay me 10 million dollars, I will get some butt implants because I ain’t got no ass,” Shaq replied. DJ Diesel continued to add spice to the joke and said “Denzel, I need you to call Alex right now and tell him to do a picture of me with BBL to see how I look.” The entire crew were laughing loudly by the time Shaq finished, as if they had forgotten all about Luka Doncic and Devin Booker.

The Big Aristotle’s wit

Fans love to listen to Shaquille O’Neal for many reasons, ranging from his meticulous analysis of the sport to his unfiltered opinions. However, Shaq’s sense of humor has a separate fanbase. The Big Podcast is one such place where the former MVP entertains his crew and listeners alike with his wit. Though Shaq is infamous for taking jibes at others, the big man has now laughed at himself. Shaq has not only joked about himself, but also appreciated Spice Adams for bringing up the BBL joke in the first place. Moreover, Shaq allowed Adams to tweet about it.

Though Shaq-and-crew digressed from the Suns-Mavs discussion to enjoy a few laughs, they did come back to it. Given the recent developments, it is obvious that the Suns-Mavs rivalry is here to stay. What started in the last season is alive and running this season as well. Given all this drama, just like Shaq, all the NBA fans will be dying to see the playoffs.
