Hollywood superstar Will Smith slapped comedian Chris Rock last year during the 94th Academy Awards. It has been a year since it happened and also the 95th Oscars were recently held. However, the controversy about the “slapgate” is not looking likely to calm down anytime now thanks to Rock’s Netflix comedy special Selective Outrage. The comedian had a lot to talk about Jada Pinkett and Will Smith during the show and it stirred dispute again. While many supported Rock’s action, some are not impressed.

Smith’s comments about Will

In one of the recent episodes of the Know Mercy with Stephen A. Smith, the senior analyst talked about Chris Rock’s comedy special Selective Outrage. He also touched on superstar Will Smith’s reaction to the show as well. Notably, A. Smith praised Rock’s comedy special and criticized Will for his slap. He then shared his brutal opinion on the controversy. The ESPN analyst noted that he does not advocate violence even though he is “prone to think ‘eye for an eye'”. He added that he believes with the society and time we are living in, one should be adamantly against violence.

However, he expressed that Will deserves more. According to a video posted by knowmercypod on Instagram, he said, “But if there’s ever an individual that deserved to have their a** kicked, it was Will Smith.”

Furthermore, the sportscaster also talked about what he would have done if the actor had slapped him. He stated that he would have kept his composure when the cameras were rolling and then would have gone after Will Smith for a confrontation during the commercials. He added that 99% of the men he knows would have done the same.

Fans were not happy with Stephen Smith

Multiple video clips of Stephen Smith speaking about Will Smith have gone viral on social media platforms. Recently, Shaquille O’Neal and his podcast crew talked about it during their latest show as well. However, the fans were not happy with the A. Smith’s comments and called him out in the comment section. Here are some reactions:
