The rumors surrounding Boston Celtics head coach Ime Udoka have rocked the NBA world. The Celtics management has suspended Udoka for one year for violating organization policy. However, not many could comprehend the long suspension. Last year, Udoka led the Celtics to their first Finals appearance in 12 years. And to do it in his first ever year as a head coach is no easy feat. Despite losing the finals, there were huge expectations from the fans because of the young superstars on the team. Also, because of the displays in the previous season’s playoffs which would not have been possible without Udoka.

Matt Barnes back pedals on Ime Udoka and the Celtics

Matt Barnes sat down with NBA veteran Stephen Jackson and Celtics legends Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce for a chat. “We live in a day where there’s less reporting on whatever is actually going on and it is more emotions and disrespect I think towards players. And I hate that s**t. And I hate when people in the media, now that I’m part of the media, will say some s**t that’s not true, and when the truth comes out, they don’t say nothing,” Barnes said.

After realizing it is a lot “deeper” than what he initially thought, he wanted to do the right thing by retracting his initial remarks. He also deleted the initial video from his Instagram account criticizing the Celtics for suspending the head coach. The former Los Angeles Lakers player admitted he spoke too soon without knowing all the facts about the issue.
