When James Harden requested a trade during the offseason, many teams showed interest in the former MVP. However, among those teams, the Philadelphia 76ers and the Brooklyn Nets were believed to be the frontrunners. Furthermore, the Beard also named these two franchises as his preferred locations to play.

Well, Harden ended up being traded to the Nets to form a super-team. But the day Harden’s trade news broke, the Rockets were also in talks with the Sixers. Unfortunately, the 76ers backed out from the deal as Houston wanted a package around All-NBA guard Ben Simmons.

While Simmons is still a member of the Sixers, hearing trade rumors about yourself is never a good thing. However, the 24-year-old handled the situation pretty well and talked about his resolution as the rumors have finally settled down. He said:

This is a business. Things like that happen. The only thing I can control is how I approach my workouts, the games, and my day to day things. I’m just trying to be professional and do the right thing and help my team get wins.”

I’m blessed. I get to play the game I love at the highest level in the world. There’s far worse things going on in the world. If you tell me I’ll never play the game again, that would be a different story.”

The 76ers are off to a tremendous start this season and losing Simmons could have disrupted their team’s chemistry. In a way, this could turn out to be a blessing in disguise for both Ben Simmons and the 76ers.

Is Ben Simmons happy with the Philadelphia 76ers?

The Sixers are one of the top contenders to win it all this season. But they need to be focused over the course of the season if they want to accomplish their goal. Additionally, the whole team should be on the same page to ensure they have top-notch chemistry while facing their opponents.

Due to the recent trade rumors, the common guess would be that Simmons is unhappy. But that is not the case as upon being asked if he is happy in Philadelphia, Ben Simmons said, “Of course.”

So far, everything looks good for the 76ers. If they keep playing at their current level, we might witness a 76ers vs Nets matchup during the playoffs. Who will be victorious in the battle of James Harden vs Ben Simmons? Let us know your views in the comments section below.
