The Phoenix Suns have undoubtedly been the breakouts of the 2021-21 NBA campaign. When the season began, many expected the Suns to do well, but perhaps not this well. Backed by their marquee players such as Devin Booker, DeAndre Ayton and Jae Crowder, the Suns took the league by storm and had a meteoric rise straight into the NBA Finals. Another major boost to their side came in the form of veteran Chris Paul, who only made them stronger.

But what stood out the most in the Suns dugout was the teamwork. Every player played their role in making the team emerge victorious, no matter how small the role. This can be seen in the fact that Phoenix had a cyclonic outing this season despite no particular individual producing magnanimous statistics. Added to this, the Suns acquired a truly gem of a leader in Chris Paul.

“Chris is Chris. I mean, what Robert said and what he’s been committed to is, how can we help our guys the most. When you look at Devin, Deandre, Mikal, Cam, Dario, we have all of our guys. When you talk about all of our guys, Robert’s focus is like how can I help these guys the most. These guys are committed to giving us everything, how can I give them everything they need to succeed?

“Luckily for us, Chris was available and what we had built was something that he respected, and he felt like hey I could thrive there. So going and getting Chris, that was Robert saying whatever it takes to help our guys, I want you to explore and I want you to get it done. It’s just that simple.”
