The Los Angeles Lakers lost to the Oklahoma City Thunder by 3 points. Despite this, Tuesday night called for nothing but celebrations as LeBron James marched toward breaking Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s career-point record. Celebrities, NBA legends, and fans filled the arena several minutes before tip-off, for they didn’t want to miss a single moment of the build-up. The Crypto.com arena was covered with people smiling from ear to ear. The joy was infectious, and in the third quarter of the game, chills ran down spines as LeBron achieved what once was considered impossible.

He dribbled twice, attempting to enter the paint only to realise that he had to bank off one of his favorite shots – the fadeaway. He turned around, jumped up and executed the history-making basket to perfection. The arena and his teammates erupted to celebrate the man of moment. While the four-time champion had everyone’s attention,  there was one other player who took the internet by storm.

NBA fans erupt at Anthony Davis’ expression

When LeBron was in the process of executing the fadeaway, the members of the Lakers’ bench were halfway inside the court. They wanted the best seat in town to watch history being made. Their faces were excited, but Anthony Davis sat motionless on the bench. His face looked expressionless, with a tinge of frustration in some parts. His teammate and brother was creating history while he sat looking rather somber. This could have sat better with fans.

Fans rushed online to comment on the NBA champion’s reaction and expression. They wrote that Davis secretly loathed James and jealously radiated from the image. LeBron James had a special message for his teammate

During the game, King James was mic’ed up and several clips of the same made rounds online. In one clip posted online, LeBron had a message for Davis. He said, “I love you, that’s all i want you to know.”

Moments after the game, Davis spoke highly of the four-time finals MVP during the post-game conference. He highlighted that LeBron checked all the boxes and put his soul into this game. He said, “I’m just honoured to be able to you know witness a lot.”
