‘Pioneer for Our Generation’: LeBron James, Michael Jordan and NBA Stars React to Designer Virgil Abloh’s Demise

The world of NBA woke up to a sad news today. Virgil Abloh, famous designer and founder of the brand, Off White is no more. He had been diagnosed with cancer, but was private about it.
An enormous influence on the world of NBA, Abloh was a true icon. Some players spoke about Abloh’s demise and were clearly saddened.
The 41 year old designer started his journey with the famous brand, Louis Vuitton. He started off as a designer for the same in 2018. Taking it a step further, Abloh created his own brand, ‘Off-White’.

His luxury brand was an enormous success. Notably, his collaboration with Jordan never disappointed the fans.

It is indeed saddening to hear about his demise at such a young age. Many players had the chance to work with him and they expressed their condolences.
Virgil Abloh passes away at 41
Abloh took and won most of the challenges in his lifetime. His toughest challenge however, was his long and private battle with cancer. Upon finding out, many NBA players expressed their condolences to his family and spoke about his impact on basketball.

Virgil Abloh’s contributions to the world of NBA
While Virgil Abloh was a designer, his impact in the world of NBA was immense. Notably, he launched several collections with Louis Vuitton and Off White when it comes to the game.

However, he is most remembered for his contribution to the Larry O’Brien trophy. Abloh created the Louis Vuitton case for the trophy, which is used to this day.
Abloh’s influence in the world of fashion and sneaker design cannot be overlooked. His Off White collection with Jordan was loved by players all around the NBA.
Many athletes even put them on during the games. He released an NBA line with Louis Vuitton, which was a resounding success. Abloh’s genius as well as his influence on the National Basketball league cannot be overlooked.
