When celebrities meet celebrities, they too can have ‘oh my god’ moments. Like ordinary citizens, they question if it would be rude to bother them in a public setting, while brainstorming ideas to start the interaction. NBA legend Charles Barkley found himself in a similar situation once. He stood in the middle of a restaurant looking at his favorite celebrity and was starstruck. The question of whether it will be appropriate to disturb the celebrity rushed through this mind too. He opened up about this and more on the latest episode of his podcast, The Steam Room.
The Steam Room’s producer, Tim Kiley, took the onus of filling in for Ernie Johnson. Johnson, who experienced a huge loss in his family recetly, has been away from his duties to grieve with his family. With this in mind, Kiley and Barkley paid their respects to the departed soul and sent their best wishes to Johnson and his family. Following this, they spoke about basketball, and the NFL and welcomed an Academy Award Winner on air.

A heartwarming interaction between Charles Barkley and Sally Fields
Academy Award winner, Sally Field appeared on the podcast and spoke about her latest movie, 80 for Brady. While doing so, Chuck declared that he is a huge fan of Field. Following this, he opened up about the only time he met her. He stated that it was at a restaurant in New York where he spotted Field and her family.
The NBA Hall of Famer introspected if he should approach her and talk to her. However, he convinced himself with an internal dialogue that went along the lines of, “What are the chances that we are ever going to be in the same restaurant again?” Chuck followed this by apologizing to her for having disturbed her family outing.
Sally Field immediately said, “Please don’t apologize, thank you for coming up, I didn’t have the nerve.” She mentioned that she too noticed Barkley but was too nervous to interact with him. Field supposedly was flustered and asked her son to look away and not make eye contact. She too was having an “oh my god” celebrity moment. The 76-year-old actress recounted how she was big fan of Barkley’s craft and used to always devour his games on TV with the entire family.
