“The Princess of R&B” and “The Queen of Urban Pop” Aaliyah was a pop icon and sensation in the 80s. She peaked pretty early in her career and had a lot of fame at such a young age. Her biggest hits reached the highest on the billboards. An old interview shows how she loved to see MJ play basketball.

When MJ retired for the second time after winning his second three-peat, his fans and all basketball lovers over the world were saddened by the news because everybody knew that there was not gonna be anyone like him.

“I’m sad to see him go of course. You know he is a phenomenon, but he has had an incredible career. We will miss him and this is what he wants to do then you know I support him all the way. He’s worked hard, and he deserves to relax now. It’s time for him to sit back and watch some games,” said Aaliyah about Jordan retiring.

Aaliyah, unfortunately, lost her life in a plane crash in the Bahamas on August 25, 2001. She could not see her favorite player come out of retirement for the last time. The amount of fame she had by then only proved how sensational she would have been if she had lived more. She left the world too soon, aged only 22.
