After almost four decades, the league now has a new scoring leader; and it’s none other than LeBron James. His predecessor, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, had previously broken NBA legend Wilt Chamberlain’s record of 31,419 points in 1984. Since then, Kareem had proudly sat on the throne for 38 long years, until the Akron Hammer came along to dethrone him.

NBA fans disapprove of Biden’s involvement in the celebrations

It was the third quarter of the game when LeBron James broke Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s record of 38,387 points. James was crowned the new scoring leader in the presence of thousands of fans and members of his family. Several veteran athletes, namely Magic Johnson, Dwyane Wade, Shannon Sharpe, and of course Kareem himself too graced the arena with their presence. Shortly after Kareem passed on the ‘mantle’ to LeBron, a message from the POTUS was played on the giant overhead screen in the arena.

However, a video that went viral on Twitter showed fans’ displeasure at watching Biden convey his message to the Lakers superstar. Several spectators were heard booing nonstop at the screen while the video continued to play.
