Stephen Curry, one of the best basketball players around, knows his way around a golf course. His golf swing is as smooth and natural as his jump shot. The Golden State Warriors star is known to participate in amateur golf tournaments during the off-season. The most recent one was the American Century Championship at Tahoe with peers like Charles Barkley and Aaron Rodgers. Alongside such stars, Andre Iguodala, Seth Curry, and Dell Curry were also present when Curry hit an insane eagle 97ft shot for a hole-in-one.

Curry’s golf prowess certainly does not indicate that it is his strongest sport. The Golden State Warriors star has won 4 NBA championships and 2 league MVPs in his career. Stephen Curry recently won his first Finals MVP and the first ever Kobe Bryant ALL-Star MVP.

Out of the 87 golfers, Curry ranked 16 in the tournament showing that his Golf skills are more than just a hobby. Curry has often questioned whether he can play golf professionally or take up a career in the sport. He is not the only Curry in the family to have this question. Recently, Ayesha Curry was invited to the Ellen Show to promote her new lifestyle magazine, ‘Sweet July.’ She talked about her three-year-old son Cannon Curry, who thought that his Father, Stephen Curry, was a golfer.

Stephen Curry has played basketball professionally for over 2 decades. He recalls playing basketball at an elite level was less stressful than when he was in the golf tournament. It was nerve-racking for him to stand with other pro-golfers as he was trying to compete.

Stephen Curry may be a pro-golfer in the future

According to Cannon Curry, Steph is already playing golf professionally. The youngster was alien to Curry’s Wizardry on a basketball court since Curry was away from the game during the pandemic.

Ayesha said, “For the longest time, he thought his dad was a golfer because of the pandemic, and there was no basketball in season. So he’s just now realizing that his dad and his uncles play basketball.”

Warriors star Curry has dabbled with the idea of playing professional golf over the past few years. He does not treat it as a past-time anymore, but more like a fixation. Curry told Bleacher Report about a future with golf.

Curry said, “There was always that question. If I had to put as much time into golf as I did basketball, could I have made it? We’ll never know, but it’s always competed in terms of my attention.”

It would be one of the biggest losses to the NBA if Curry were to retire from professional basketball, as he has completely reformed the NBA.
