Afterwards, the Dubs guard conveyed a message about protecting American citizens who are wrongfully detained overseas. Curry stated, “But, it?s also a reminder that we all need to stay engaged in the fight to protect American citizens at home and abroad who are wrongfully detained, and we can continue to be engaged in that fight.”

Ever since Griner’s arrest, Curry used his platform to talk about it on multiple occasions. He voiced his support during the ESPYs and also during the Golden State Warriors’ ring presentation ceremony. Earlier this year, Griner was detained for carrying small amounts of cannabis oil in her belongings.

Today, I?m taking steps to end our failed approach. Allow me to lay them out.”

A few days later, about 6,500 people who were convicted of cannabis possession at the federal level, were reportedly released after Biden’s pardon. The President then called on governors to issue similar pardons regarding state marijuana offenses, according to reports.
