It has been quite a while since Bronny James gained celebrity status. While earlier it was because he was the son of NBA superstar LeBron James, the young millionaire has now managed to make an identity for himself. There are no doubts that Bronny has got good on-court skills which is why he’s being pursued by multiple colleges. While there have been tidbits of reports that suggest that Bronny is close to making his decision, an anonymous college coach accused Bronny’s mom Savannah James of making it difficult for universities to reach out to her son.

“I tried to get involved, but you had to jump through a thousand hoops just to get to the mom. You’re not allowed to talk to the kid. You have to schedule a time on Tuesday or Thursday with the publicist just to talk to the mom,” an ACC coach relayed to On3 during an interview.

Notably, the source’s comments couldn’t be in more contrast than that of LeBron’s. The 4x NBA champion had earlier shared that Bronny has narrowed down the list to five or six universities, and that he only had to make a call to whichever college he chooses. However, it seems like things might not be running as smoothly as implied.

KJ Evans, one of the top recruits in the 2023 class shared, “[Bronny] told me he likes Oregon, and I want him to visit there. Everyone that’s coming in is unselfish. We all cut, move and don’t hold the ball too long, so it’s going to benefit him. Bronny can be more of a playmaker and a shot creator, and I think we would play really well together.”
