After rumors of Donovan Mitchell joining the Knicks came up, the latest rumor to hit the internet might shock their fans. After signing Julius Randle to a four-year extension, the New York-based team is reportedly looking to offload him.

Although the Knicks might have him on a long contract, his form has been a major concern for the management. He averages 18.7 points, 9.9 rebounds, and 5.0 assists. His shooting form has been the biggest let-off this season.

The shooting guard is shooting 30.7 percent from the three-point range, compared to 41.1 percent last season. Apart from his bad shooting form, Randle has also had a very bad relationship with the Knicks fanbase recently.

After a bad game against the Boston Celtics on January 6, the Knicks faithful resorted to boo chants to let Julius Randle about their thoughts regarding him.

Randle controversially showed a thumbs down gesture to the fans and also asked them to, “shut the f**k up.” Although he did apologize to the fans for his gestures, the relationship has not been the same ever since.

His words were, “My comment was an example of how sometimes you say things you regret to people you love, even if it came from a place of passion and deep love.“

Although a trade before the trade deadline looks unlikely, it all depends on the tension between Julius Randle and the fans. The Knicks are also heavily linked with Donovan Mitchell of the Utah Jazz, who is looking for a move.
