Kevin Garnett spent 21 long years in the NBA. He played for three different NBA sides in his career. Minnesota Timberwolves drafted him in 1995, and he made his debut for them on November 3.

After spending 8 years in Minnesota, he played for Boston Celtics, and Brooklyn Nets before making a return to the side that drafted him. Garnett played as a forward or center. At 6’9, he was quite effective in both positions.

Garnett won it all in his career. He has an NBA championship, an NBA MVP, an NBA All-Star game MVP, and many other honors to his name along with 15 NBA All-Star inclusions.

Kevin Garnett forgives Ray Allen

Kevin and Ray Allen represented the same jersey of the Celtics for 5 seasons together. In 2012, Allen decided to take his future to LeBron James’ Miami Heat. There he won the championship in the very first season, just like in Boston. This did not sit well with Garnett. He felt betrayed and held a grudge for a long time because he felt like Allen snubbed off the Celtics. And yes, he “held” a grudge, as in past tense, because by the looks of it he might just have gotten over his rift with Ray.

Almost a Decade Since Ray Allen’s Big Move to Heat, Kevin Garnett Is Still Upset About It

The Boston Celtics have decided to honor Kevin Garnett by retiring his jersey number 5. Reportedly, Kevin has invited Ray to the special event, his retirement ceremony on Sunday. This is evidence that Kevin has “forgiven” his former teammate and has finally moved on.

The rift between Kevin and Ray

Garnett and Allen were traded in together by the Boston Celtics in the 2007-2008 season from Minnesota Timberwolves and Milwaukee Bucks, respectively. They led the Celtics to a win in the 2008 NBA finals. They clinched the championship in their very first season together. However, things did not end as well as they started.

After Ray Allen decided to take his services to Miami, Garnett held a grudge that honestly should not have lasted this long. Garnett retired in 2016, two years after Ray Allen did in 2014.

Back in 2017, Garnett excluded Allen from a Celtics reunion because he still obviously felt that Ray wasn’t loyal. He said, “People don’t understand that this is real life for us. The situation with Ray is very sensitive. I think when we all talked about doing this reunion tour, we was talking about guys that we consider loyal, part of this group. Just being honest — my two cent, man. When Ray decided to go to the Heat, I felt like he moved on. He went to pursue another ring. He got another ring — shout to him. And that’s it … It was all Celtics invited to this.”

Kevin Garnett’s Hilarious Reaction to Ray Allen Crossing by Him in the NBA All Star Game Breaks the Internet

It is understandable that he obviously did not approve of Ray’s decision, but there was never any bad blood between the two. Having said that, Kevin Garnett is finally over all this after 10 long years. The reunion of two old buddies will surely be wholesome. Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen, teammates reuniting, we love to see it, and hopefully, so do the fans.
