‘Refs Trying To Take Out Klay Thompson’: Twitter Erupts As Warriors Star Has Scary Collison With Referee

The Memphis Grizzlies enjoyed a hard fought victory over the Golden State Warriors in their recent matchup. They continue their rise by besting some of the greatest teams in the NBA today. The close contest came down to the final minutes with both sides making some big minutes in. In the end, the Grizzlies pulled through. But one incident in the game had the fans scared over a potential Klay Thompson injury.

Klay made his much awaited return in the last game against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Coming in dealing with two ACL injuries, the Warriors star is on minutes restrictions. It is important in the initial stage as his body gets used to the load.

Hence, a collision with a female NBA referee had fans worried about Klay.

Klay Thompson runs into NBA referee

With the Warriors trying to get back in the game in the second quarter, they brought the ball down the court. However, while Klay was focusing on the ball, he ran right into the referee and both fell right down. He got up immediately and even apologized to the official for crashing in.

With the game, it was yet another great battle between these two teams. Both teams had their moments in the game, but when it came crunch time, Ja Morant stepped up yet again. The Warriors took their second loss to the Grizzlies this season and they fell to 30-10.

The Grizzles have now won an impressive 10 straight games. Led by Ja Morant’s 29 points, 8 assists and 5 rebounds performance, Memphis won the contest 116-108. Tyus Jones came up big as well, shooting a perfect 5/5 from downtown. He added 17 points and 8 assists to the mix. Young Ziaire Williams hit some big time buckets as well as he tallied 17 points.

Stephen Curry led the way for the Warriors with a triple double of 27 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. In his second game back, Klay Thompson added 14 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists in 20 minutes of action. But the absence of Draymond Green left a huge hole in the defense and the Grizzlies did a great job in capitalizing it.
