The NBA playoffs are heading into the final stages as the Conference finals matchups are all set. What makes it more exciting for fans is the opportunity to see new champions of the NBA. After an intense 7 game battle against the Boston Celtics, Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks fell short. The defending champions lost in Game 7 as their playoff journey came to an end. However, their fans may have some great news on the way as Damian Lillard put a shockwave through the NBA world.
Lillard is one of the top stars in the NBA. However, being loyal has kept him from getting a deep run in the playoffs. With just a single conference finals appearance, his time with the Trail Blazers isn’t characterized by winning. While Dame has the skill to deliver on the biggest stage, Portland isn’t a competing team just yet.
And Lillard’s recent tweet had NBA fans in shock as he hinted at teaming up with the Bucks superstar, Giannis.

Despite their playoff exit, Giannis had one of his most dominant runs in the playoffs this season. Desperate to go back to back, the Freak put his heart on the floor averaging 31 points, 14 rebounds, and 7 assists per game. While his effort wasn’t enough to put the Bucks through to the conference finals, Lillard has his bets on the Greek Freak.
When a Twitter fan asked Dame about a player he would pick to take him into the playoffs, Lillard went on to pick Giannis Antetokounmpo. There are no signs of a potential team-up just yet. But with Lillard’s desperation to win, nothing can be written off.

Dame has made it clear that he will look to move away from the Trail Blazers with his objective being to win a title for himself. There are no clear signs as to where he will move, but a move to Milwaukee could really be one for the ages. Giannis is one of the most dominant forces in the league and over the years has developed great court vision. With a consistent shooter like Lillard who makes nearly 40% of his threes, this duo could turn the league upside down. Both Lillard and Antetokounmpo are star players with elite scoring under their belt. If there is ever a team up in the future, their duo will reign over the NBA.

However, one theme runs common in both the players’ mentality. That is winning without a superteam. Giannis and Dame have said out loud that they have no interest in winning with a superteam. While Giannis has already done it the hard way, Lillard is yet to win a chip in his career. With many parameters running this trade, it is unlikely we will ever see this duo in action.
