Last year, Los Angeles Lakers signed a veteran player which allowed LeBron James to play with a long-time friend, Carmelo Anthony. The duo came into the league at the same time and have been friends even before that. However, their partnership might soon be coming to an end, as Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics are looking to sign Carmelo.
Carmelo has been one of the few bright spots in the Lakers’ disastrous last season. Coming off the bench, he was a constant threat in most games. He also had an excellent year shooting from the three-point line. However, he is currently a free agent and the Lakers have made him no offer yet.

And before they do, there are some other teams that want Carmelo.
Knicks and Celtics are interested in taking Carmelo from LeBron James and the Lakers
According to new reports, the New York Knicks and the Boston Celtics are interested in signing Carmelo. The Knicks were Melo’s old team, and he is still loved in New York. They also are building up a playoff team and would love to have the experience and leadership of Carmelo.
However, the Celtics are not just a contender, but they are one of the favorites. They reached the Finals last year and will certainly look to repeat the same this season. Given the team they are building, Carmelo would definitely be a valuable addition. Not to mention Carmelo also has never been to the Finals; hence, his desire to do so will be at an all-time high.

The Lakers have not yet made a move for Carmelo, but they are expected to do so soon. Carmelo has great chemistry with the Lakers and he still has LeBron there. But the Lakers don’t look like a championship team yet as they still have a lot of moves to make.
They still have time, but they need to move quickly. And Carmelo has to decide where he wants to go by the start of the season. What are your predictions for Carmelo’s future?
