James Harden, the star guard of the Brooklyn Nets, is known as one of the greatest ever players in the NBA. Aside from his exemplary basketball skills, the 32-year-old is also known for his iconic beard. It’s been a part of his appearance for so long that it’d be weird to imagine Harden without the crumb-catcher.

In an interview with TMZ in 2013, he stated that he would only consider shaving his beard for charity if it raised money. However, that response changed in a later interview in 2018.

The cost of shaving Harden’s beard revealed

In an interview with TMZ in 2013, Harden discussed the fame of his beard, saying he will shave it if it makes money that goes to charity. He added that it shouldn’t be any charity as he said, “it depends on which charity.”

Even if there is a charity, Harden told TMZ the shaving of his beard would have to raise more than $80,000.

As we know, Harden has been maintaining his beard since 2008. In 2018, his response about the price of his beard-cutting had changed. Harden said in an interview with The Ringer in February 2018 that shaving off his beard would cost $10 million. He said:

“Oh yeah, I would cut it. I mean because it’s going to grow right back. Yeah, $10 million minimum is where I am like ‘alright.’”
