Lillard recently unapologetically tweeted out his thoughts, which were probably directed at the current situation of the playoffs. Fans were quick to decode Dame Dolla’s message and troll Dillon Brooks for his recent antics.

The first round of the playoffs has given every team and their fans a story to tell. Amongst the many teams, The Los Angeles Lakers have made a strong comeback to reverse their initial misfortunes in the 2022-23 season, as they ease toward?a win against the Memphis Grizzlies in round 1.?

However, the Lakers’ valiant efforts weren’t the only highlight of the eventful series. Memphis Grizzlies star Dillon Brooks’ bold comments against LeBron James have ruffled quite some feathers in NBA circles. After the game 2 win, Brooks dissed James, calling him “old”.

The 27-year-old added that he couldn’t respect anyone until they dropped 40 points on him. The Grizzlies star angered many with his comments, including popular sportscaster, Stephen A. Smith. However, since then the Grizzlies have had a sharp downfall and Brooks is nowhere to be seen.

Hence, when Portland’s favorite, Dame Dolla decided to tweet some spicy words without taking any names, many assumed that Lillard was talking about Dillon Brooks. “You can?t be ?HIM? one day and in a identity crisis a few days later,” tweeted Lillard.

?Since the tweet, fans have made a lot of guesses about the target of these words. However, one name has dominated the discussion, that of Memphis Grizzlies star Dillon Brooks.?

Fans react to Lillard’s confusing tweet

The Portland star’s tweet wasn’t blatantly directed at anyone, but fans have drawn their own conclusions. According to them, Dame’s words exactly fit the description of Dillon Brooks. The Grizzlies star involved himself in quite a bit of trash-talking after their game 2 win against the Lakers. Since then, Brooks has faced quite the reversal of fortunes. From getting ejected in game 3 to denying a comment after game 4, Brooks has gone mostly silent.

Most of the fans strongly believed that the tweet was for Brooks, whose comments on LeBron James weren’t taken kindly by most of the NBA community.

Some thought this was Lillard throwing shade at Jayson Tatum, who at the time of the tweet was shooting 3-11 in what turned out to be a defeat for the Boston Celtics.
