Rumors about Kyrie Irving switching sides this off-season are starting to swirl around the town. The guard brought his talents to the Brooklyn Nets in 2019; however, the Kai-show might be over for Nets fans much sooner than they would have wanted. As things stand, fans are in for a blockbuster reunion as Irving could join forces with LeBron James again.

The Brooklyn Nets had a disappointing season, with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving failing to find a way past the first round of the playoffs. With James Harden demanding a trade, Irving playing only 29 games, and the team failing to live up to expectations, the Nets seemed to be in disarray.

Reportedly, Kyrie Irving and the Brooklyn Nets have reached an impasse, which may have opened new doors for the gifted point guard. While many believe Kevin Durant and Irving will be teammates next season, emerging rumors fuel the unlikeliness of that happening. According to NBA insider Marc Stein, Kyrie has already approached LeBron James about joining forces in Los Angeles this upcoming season.

Given how things ended between the two in Cleveland, this may have appeared exceedingly unlikely to materialize. However, the fearsome duo may reassemble sooner rather than later to torment the league yet again.

Things could go swimmingly if the Los Angeles Lakers can clean up their mess from last season and land Irving. The guard could be willing to sacrifice large sums of money, Kevin Durant and the Nets to join the Lake-Show. The Lakers, however, will need to make the right moves going forward if they want the pairing to materialize.

James-Irving partnership led to an NBA title in Cleveland

Kyrie Irving and LeBron James together posed a serious threat to their opponents nightly. Back when they starred for the Cleveland Cavaliers, the duo was usually capable of dismantling the best defenses. While the duo only spent three seasons together, those three seasons were enough to showcase the league their deadly chemistry.

James made a historic homecoming to ‘The Forest City’ in 2014, teaming up with Irving, and the two were captivating on the court from the outset. They propelled their team to the NBA Finals after sweeping the Atlanta Hawks in the Eastern Conference Finals. Their hopes for a title were shattered as they were defeated by the Stephen Curry-led Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals.

The second season, however, did the trick, as the Cavs captured their first title in history after a historic 3-1 comeback against the Warriors in the Finals.

They attempted to repeat and overcome the Warriors in their third and last year; however, KD and the Dubs proved too much for the Cavs.

While many would have liked seeing the pairing continue to captivate, their time together ended in upheaval, with Irving wanting out. However, Irving recently expressed regret that things ended with James on a sour note. He also stated that if they had continued to work together, they would have won a number of more titles.
