Russell Westbrook not happy with the Lakers

Russ missed his first game with the purple and gold recently on account of a back injury. The former MVP came in to speak to the media and even addressed his injury. While giving an update, Brodie took a shot at the organization and said he is not used to being on the sidelines for long stretches before checking back quickly into the game.

He said: “It comes and goes. … I’m not accustomed to sitting down for long stretches and having to get up and get up quickly.”

It is evident that Russ hasn’t been himself this season. Coming back to his home, things haven’t gone as per expectations. He is putting up 18.3 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 7.6 assists. All his major stats are lower from the last couple of seasons. Moreover, his efficiency has taken a big drop as well.

In his past teams, Russ has had a much bigger role at the organization. With the purple and gold, sitting out late in the games has become a regular. For Westbrook, that is completely new and understandable why it may frustrate him. However, from a coach’s stand, Vogel only has a Lakers win in his mind. Hence, due to his struggles, Russ turns out to become a liability at times.

While all things are said and done, it seems there isn’t an encouraging update on the relationship between Westbrook and the Lakers. Do you think Russ will come out better when he returns? Let us know in the comments below.
