The Lakers’ plan involving their ‘big three’ -LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Russell Westbrook – did not go as expected. It has been reported that they will be relaunching them in the upcoming year.
For Lakers’ player Westbrook, 2022 wasn’t the biggest year because he had to deal with many criticisms. Particularly with their performance at the 2021-22 NBA championship and their position on the podium.

There were many opinions and criticisms about the Los Angeles Lakers and none of them were good or appreciative of the player. He was even criticized by some for not providing the team with the performance it expected during the draft. As far as the fans are concerned, he showed poor turnovers and odd shots during his performance.
At the beginning of the season, the Lakers were all set with their best of three to continue the season, and fans were hopeful. Everyone predicted the Lakers would win the NBA championship, but it didn’t happen, and to make matters worse, they didn’t even qualify for the playoffs.
The following news was reported by Yahoo Sports’ Senior NBA Insider Chris Haynes regarding the Lakers situation: “The Los Angeles Lakers’ Big 3 of LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Russell Westbrook huddled up on a phone conversation the first weekend of NBA Summer League in Las Vegas with each expressing their commitment to one another and vowing to make it work, league sources told Yahoo Sports.”

According to TMZ Sports, former Lakers shooting guard Malik Monk has some thoughts on the recent events. To further elaborate on this, when he was asked about the phone call that took all the three stars he replied, saying: “They grown men. Especially when they have convos like that, it’ll work out for them. They all great.”

The Lakers are now fully prepared for the new upcoming season as they are doing everything in their power to make it the best season ever. Furthermore, Darvin Ham has mentioned many times that he wants to coach Westbrook, so it will be interesting to see what happens.
