Russell Westbrook didn’t know he had a technical foul

The incident between LeBron and Stewart saw two players got technical fouls. Stewart received two techs for unsportsmanlike conduct while Westbrook received a technical foul for trying to escalate the situation rather than be the peace keeper. For LeBron James, he received a straight flagrant 2 for his hit above the shoulder. But it seems Westbrook was unaware and didn’t feel like he did anything during the incident.

He said: “Who got a tech? I got a tech? Oh wow, why did I get a tech? I didn’t know I had a tech. That’s interesting. Well you know, that’s just being Russell I guess. When you Russell Westbrook, they just try to do anything, I guess apparently. I don’t know what I did but whatever.”

The scuffle was very violent, but with Westbrook he stood with LeBron and tried get into it as well. On the other hand, the other players were trying to separate in order to avoid things to escalate into a fight. This is a classic Westbrook reaction after knowing he had a technical foul. However, his game was much different.

Westbrook came in strong as he went for 26 points, 9 rebounds and 10 assists in the 121-116 win over the Detroit Pistons. He was on song along with AD as LeBron was not a part of the game for a good part. The duo took the Lakers to yet another win while Westbrook took home a big confidence boost after the last game.
