Russell Westbrook Hints At Shooting-Heavy Role With Lakers in Impressive New Video

Russell Westbrook has been one of the top guards in the NBA for a while now. A triple double machine, Westbrook does it all on the court, from scoring, to distributing the ball to rebounding.
After a disappointing end in to his Rockets’ tenure, Westbrook got a brand new start with the Washington Wizards. Partnered alongside Bradley Beal, Westbrook was expected to flourish. But Brodie massively struggled in the initial part of the season and underperformed.
Just as doubts were creeping in about his ability, the former MVP fired back with a sensational second half of the season and led the team to a play-in spot. But the Wizards ultimately fell flat and were gentlemen swept by the Philadelphia 76ers. The Wizards subsequently have broken up the pair and have shipped Westbrook to the Lakers.

Russell Westbrook might change role for the Lakers
Westbrook is arguably one of the most ball-dominant guards in the game right now. But Brodie might not get that much liberty with the Lakers though. The Purple and Gold who pretty much initiate their offense through LeBron James, see ‘the King’ dominate the ball.
Westbrook certainly knows the same and before joining the super-team Lakers, is putting in the work. In a recent Instagram story, Brodie was seen knocking down multiple three pointers hinting at a possible shooting heavy role.

While Westbrook over the years has posted incredible numbers all across the board, one of his biggest critiques is his inconsistent three point shooting even though he is a guard.
This has certainly kept Brodie away from conversations from one of the best guards in the game. But ahead of the 2021-22 season, Westbrook is working towards getting a consistent jumper.

Not only will a good jumper help Westbrook, it will also be beneficial for the Lakers. The 2020 champions were one of the worst sides in terms of three point shooting and their struggles were visible in post-season. With LeBron James and Anthony Davis operating in the paint, Brodie can open up the floor, resulting in easy buckets.
This Lakers team is looking stacked right now. Given how ball dominant both Bron and Westbrook are, it will be interesting to see how the two fit. Do you think Brodie will have a high shooting role next season?
