NBA Twitter has a clash of opinions over LeBron James’ list

In a very recent interview with Dave McMenamin of ESPN, 18-time NBA All-Star LeBron James talked about soon becoming the all-time scoring leader and how it was never on the list of goals that he had set. Following that revelation, McMenamin stated the fact that Brooklyn Nets superstar Kevin Durant is the active player after James on the all-time scoring list. He then asked, according to James, which other active NBA players have what it takes to surpass him next.

The four-time MVP replied that the first name that comes to his mind was Kevin Durant. He then named Kyrie Irving, Luka Doncic, Joel Embiid, and Giannis Antetokounmpo. Evidently, not everyone was on board with James’ list. His choice of players became a reason for debate among NBA fans with some pointing out that Warriors superstar Stephen Curry should have been included in the list. Below are a few of the tweets.

Curry is arguably the best shooter ever. So James missing out on the four-time champion’s name puzzled a lot of fans. Amidst the fans’ debate regarding Steph’s ability to surpass LeBron, the sharpshooter has finally made a comeback after missing 11 games due to his injury.

Stephen Curry rejoins the Warriors

Stephen Curry sustained a shoulder injury during the game against the Indiana Pacers on December 14. As a result, the two-time MVP had to take time off and was sidelined for almost three weeks during which he missed 11 games. Dub Nation beamed with joy after the eight-time All-Star rejoined his teammates for the game against the Phoenix Suns.

Curry scored 24 points with one rebound, and three assists in the 125-113 losing game against the Suns. He scored 16 points in the fourth quarter alone and made 8 shots out of 22 from the floor. Teammate Klay Thompson led the team in scoring with 29 points and five rebounds. Whereas, Jordan Poole had 27 points, 5 rebounds, and 6 assists.
