NBA legend, Charles Barkley was also one among them. The 11x NBA All-Star was once left with a red face by the king of pop when he hung up on Barkley over a call. Chuck once narrated an unfortunate moment he shared with the King of Pop on a show in 2019. 

It isn’t new for Barkley to land in situations that may be deemed embarrassing. As the Philadelphia 76ers star has often been left with a red face several times on camera. In an episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live in 2019, Charles Barkley revealed the unfortunate treatment of Michael Jackson. Kimmel, the host asked Barkley if he and Michael Jackson were friends. Barkley immediately replied, “No, we talked on the phone one day, and he hung up on me.”

Following Barkley’s statement, the audience burst into laughter and Kimmel eagerly asked the reason. Chuck said that Michael Jackson once wanted to thank him as he defended MJ in the media over the dangling baby controversy. In 2002, Jackson attracted the press attention for the wrong reason. He once held his son on the porch of a Hotel in Berlin and the media soon blew it out of proportion. But, Barkley stood in defense of MJ as he asked the people not to make a big deal of the situation. So MJ called Chuck on phone to thank him for his gesture.

Barkley further on the show said, “He said What the Hell He Had to Say and Hung Up.” The audience and Jimmy Kimmel burst into uncontrollable laughter after Chuck narrated the whole incident.
