Former Boston Celtics player Kendrick Perkins made an honest confession during an interview. He talked about how the Cleveland Cavaliers closed out Game 6 against the Celtics to tie the series, and Game 7 was set to take place in 2008. Interestingly enough, Perkins was actually scared to face LeBron. Moreover, he prayed that James suffers an injury!

Perkins said, “I was scared as hell going into Game 7 against LeBron James. This was the only time that I actually prayed that something happened to him at practice. I was like, let us get breaking news that LeBron has, you know, tore his ACL. I’m not even lying, I’m not exaggerating, that’s how terrified I was of LeBron.”

As for Kendrick Perkins, he did not have to fear LeBron James anymore because he later joined the Cleveland Cavaliers during the 2017-18 season.

LeBron James is always a threat for the Celtics

Interestingly, among all the teams in the NBA, the Boston Celtics are one of LeBron James’ favorite opponents. The four-time NBA champion has had numerous great moments against the Celtics, like the 2018 Eastern Conference Finals.

The Cavs closed out the Conference Finals with a 4-3 series win, led by LeBron himself. He averaged 33.6 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 8.4 assists.

Notably, this is widely regarded as one of James’ greatest performances as he led his team to the Finals almost single-handedly. Against the Celtics, LeBron averages 28.8 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 7.0 assists in 56 games.
