The Brooklyn Nets have been on fire to start their 2021-22 season. Notably, Kevin Durant is going off leading the Nets with his dominance. However, they still aren’t in full force with Kyrie Irving still not playing. But, Chicago legend, Scottie Pippen had an interesting take on Durant and the Nets if they’re to win the championship.

KD is truly showing out this season, even leading the race for MVP. The ‘Slim Reaper’ is handling the majority of the Nets’ offense while also being a leading rebounder. However, the extra load on Durant is just because James Harden is still in his recovery process and hasn’t returned to being himself. But, if he does, Scottie believes the Brooklyn Nets can win the championship.

Also, with their WC rivals, Los Angeles Lakers struggling to get things done, the Nets are looking like the favorites to win it this year. On top, the Lakers can’t even keep up with a Kyrie-less Brooklyn Nets team which serves as major bad news.

The 6x NBA Champion first expressed a concern and said, “Not if James Harden can get in shape. I’m not going to say they can win without him. He definitely is a guy that can help them.” Then, he paid his respect to the team’s leader and added, “But Kevin Durant right now is an unstoppable player, and we started to see this last year in the playoffs. If he continues on this kind of role and starts to utilize his team a little bit better, I think they can possibly win without him.”

Currently, Durant is one of the leading scorers in the NBA, putting up 29.5 points per game. His contribution on the offensive end is unmatched as he is shooting 56% which is his career-best. On the other hand, Harden might not be on his offensive peak, but his services as a point guard are on display every night, dishing out assists and getting everyone involved.

However, Irving’s impact can’t be ignored. Not only is he a talented scorer but Kyrie is one of the best players in crunch time around the league. He led the Nets in scoring last year and is definitely an important piece to any lineup.
