Scottie Pippen has no holds barred at the moment. Every time the former Bulls forward gives an interview now, perhaps Michael Jordan will have his heart in his mouth. The biggest and most brutal take down of Jordan happened in his memoir ‘Unguarded’, wherein he lashed out at his ex-teammate for glorifying himself over their iconic squad in a documentary. Back in the 90s, the Bulls claimed a hat-trick of crowns in the league. And Pippen and Jordan played lead roles in their success.

Though the numbers speak a different story, 56-year-old Pippen played just as important a part in Chicago’s glory days as MJ. Averaging over 16 points, he was the perfect man to pair up with ‘His Airness’. Regardless of their unquestionable on-court connection, this iconic tag team never had the best of equations off the court. And in a recent interview, Pippen bashed Jordan for an infamous incident during their playing days.

According to his own admission, Scottie Pippen feels he was never highly enough. In the 1997 NBA Finals, the great Michael Jordan dropped a performance that will go down as one of the most iconic in knockout history. On the verge of defeat in Game-5, Jordan finished with 38 points and helped his side garner a 3-2 lead against the Jazz. Revealed much later, Jordan had in fact played the game with a bad ailment, supposedly a flu. However, the lesser known fact is that Pippen also suffered a detrimental back injury in the 1998 Finals.
Pippen’s injury meant that he was sidelined for a brief period, in spite of his best attempt to recover his body. Upon being asked in his interview with NBA Radio if he felt the toxic media over hyped Jordan’s issue over his, he said, “Here’s my breakdown on that. I’m going to ask you this. Is it easier to play with a herniated disc, or to play with the flu? Well I don’t see many bad back games, but I do see flu games. Come on!”

Another day, another brutal take down from the 7-time All-star. Jordan hasn’t yet responded to all the allegations, and is currently enjoying his retired life as a businessman and entrepreneur. Will he provide a befitting reply to his former teammate? Or choose to lay low?
