Serena Williams’ Reported Relationship With Shaquille O’Neal’s Former Teammate Was Once Revealed by Carmelo Anthony’s Wife

One of the greatest athletes of all time, Serena Williams, is seemingly calling curtains on her career. After announcing that she will retire from tennis, Williams competed in what could be her last US Open. Stars from all over the world, including the NBA, poured tributes. She has had a strong and old connection with NBA, as the 23-Grand Slam champion has dated a few players from the league. Most notably a former all-star who was also a teammate of Shaquille O’Neal. This was revealed by Carmelo Anthony’s wife to the world.

Amar’e Stoudemire, a six-time NBA all-star, reportedly dated Serena back in the day. He is known for his run with the Phoenix Suns, where he formed a deadly partnership with Steve Nash. He also played with Carmelo Anthony at the New York Knicks. He even played along with Shaq at the Suns.

Back in 2010, Amar’e signed with the New York Knicks. Being in the Big Apple, he met Serena and the two stars decided to be in a relationship. Moreover, this was made public was Anthony’s now ex-wife, Lala Vasquez-Anthony. However, this lasted only for a few months and the two stars decided to go their own ways. This did not affect Amar’e in any way on the court as he posted all-star numbers.

But this year was the last time Amar’e made the all-star team. His career began to decline as he struggled with injuries late on. The former Suns star even had a stint overseas before retiring in 2020. After retiring, he worked as a basketball analyst and as an assistant coach.

Meanwhile, Serena was just getting started. She won 10 more grand slam titles to increase her career total to 23. She made several Finals after that but was unable to get to that 24 mark.
