Shaq has always respected the cops, and he makes sure his children do the same. In the Life of Shaq series, revolving around the life of Shaquille O’Neal, he mentions how he makes sure his children respect the cops.

Shaq says, “I teach them two words, respect and understand. Respect that man putting his life on the line for this country. Understand what that man has seen, been through, going through. I don’t care why he pulled you over for, bring your a** home.”

Shaquille O’Neal had also talked about this issue on the Jimmy Kimmel Show. He said, “First of all, you have to try to diffuse the situation or show respect,” O’Neal said. “If you have to understand that these people are also out here to do all their jobs. So, you try to diffuse the situation. If it happens to get rough, don’t say anything, don’t do anything, just comply.”

Shaq is a father to 6 children and follows a very smart approach to parenting them. O’Neal said his kids can live comfortably for now, but that cannot continue for a long time. He expects them to earn their living as adults rather than living off his net worth.
