In an interview with Nischelle Turner of Entertainment Tonight, the 15x NBA All-Star expressed his wish to get a chiseled body and do an underwear ad with his sons. He stated that he is aiming to lose 20 pounds by his 51st birthday in March. Talking about his dietary plans, Shaq said that he had to cut bread and soda from his meals and consumed a planned meal that involved vegetables, shakes, and supplements.

The Lakers legend’s determination and the drastic change in his body have seemingly impressed NBA fans. Twitterati dropped several comments on Shaq’s before and after pictures. What prompted Shaq to change his diet?

In the interview with ET, Shaq shared what made him make the changes in his diet. According to ‘Superman’, he decided to get better physically after a blood test report revealed that he was getting unhealthy and fat. At the time, the Big Diesel was not used to eating salads or thinking often about his health and what he ate. However, the doctor’s suggestion made him mend his ways.

“I didn’t know what the difference between a carb and a protein, at 50 years old I never knew. So, he was saying you can’t do this, you can’t do that, more vegetables, my iron’s low. And once I just started changing those certain things, it dropped.” Shaq added.
