In a recent interview, Shaq revealed how Magic Johnson told him he should start investing.

After a dominating 19 season career in the NBA, Shaq received advice from Magic to start investing. During his interview with CNBC, Shaq spoke about his investment journey and how Magic told him that, at some point, he should start investing in businesses. And Shaq took that advice to heart and explained how following the rules is all it takes.

He said, “I learned from the great Magic Johnson that it’s okay to be a superstar basketball player, but at some point, you want to start investing in businesses. And it’s a simple motto. If it works, you follow the rules, it will continue to work.”

Since his retirement, Shaq has managed to expand his wealth and amass a net worth of $400 million. And with investments in companies such as Google and owning hundreds of fast-food restaurants, there is no doubt that Shaq will only further grow as a businessman.
