Shaquille O’Neal Admits He Threatened Lakers With Violence After Sudden Trade Amid Beef With Kobe Bryant

The Los Angeles Lakers fanbase boast of having some of the biggest superstars play for them. Whether it is Shaquille O’Neal, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James or Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, they have all represented the purple and yellow.

Among the superstars who have played for the franchise, Kobe and Shaq formed an extraordinary duo. The two led the Lakers to 3 consecutive NBA titles and established themselves as one of the greatest teams ever.

However, not everything was well between the two. Shaq and Kobe had a feud, and O’Neal was traded to the Miami Heat shortly after. Talking about the trade, Shaq revealed some shocking details.

Talking on The Big Shaq Podcast, the 4 time NBA champion revealed how he threatened to use violence after learning about the decision to trade him.

There is no denying Shaquille O’Neal is one of the greatest Laker ever. He won 3 NBA titles representing the purple and yellow alongside Kobe Bryant.

However, a beef in the Lakers camp led to Shaq leaving the Lakers. Talking on The Big Shaq podcast, Shaq talked about Frank Vogel not knowing about sacking and how he relates with him.

Shaq said, “He [Frank Vogel] was done dirty because that’s how I heard I was getting traded. I’m eating cereal with Shareef planning on vacation, Oh the Lakers will be taking trades for Shaquille O’Neal like that.”

He added, “I can’t get a call. So, what I did is I got in my car and went to the office. They knew it was coming. The police was waiting for me. I was going in there to put my hands on Mitch Kupchak.”

After his sudden trade from the Lakers, Shaq joined the Miami Heat and a young Dwyane Wade. He formed another incredible duo with Wade often playing the role of his mentor.

Furthermore, he won his 4th and final NBA title in Miami. He left the Heat with 1 NBA title and an average of 19.6 points, 9.1 rebounds, and 2.1 assists.
