Shaquille O’Neal Brings Up NFL Veteran’s “Beautiful Wife and Daughters” To Give Ben Simmons a Bitter Taste of Reality

Brooklyn Nets star Ben Simmons finally broke his silence on his issues last season. He explained what he was going through and he hit back against his haters. Simmons also laid into NBA Legend Shaquille O’Neal for his comments about him. But Shaq did not sit back quietly and he responded to him by bringing up an NFL veteran’s wife and daughters.

Simmons went on JJ Reddick’s podcast ‘The Old Man and Three” and opened up on what he went through last season. Simmons talked about his mental health issue and how this affected his ability to play basketball.

He also addressed his critics and one of them was Shaq. He tore into him and told that Shaq did not care at all. Ben Simmons also revealed that Shaq lied about messaging him and asking him how he was.

Shaq was asked on his podcast what he thought about Simmons’s comments. He fired back at the former number 1 pick and told him that he is not a hater. He is just holding young players like Simmons accountable and he has already been through what Simmons was going through in the past.

Shaq brought up Spice Adams being a fan to explain why he said what he said. Shaq explained, “The fans that’s paying like Spice, his beautiful sons, and his two beautiful daughters, when they pay all that money to watch you play, they don’t want to hear no excuse. Guess what, Spice got a job, and he got to take a piece of that job, a lot of money, buy those good seats for his kids… We don’t want to hear no excuse”

Shaq also said,” People talk about my free throws all the god damn time. You think I care? I do not. That don’t bother me. When you get to a certain level, stuff like that can’t bother you. When you whine and whine and whine, you get all these people… It’s not okay”

Shaq fired back hard at Ben Simmons and let him know his faults. He expects great things from Simmons, but when he doesn’t live up to his potential, he will call him out. Simmons is looking fit and strong for next season and he will want to prove his doubters wrong. Even Shaq will be impressed if Simmons makes him eat his words. But right now, there seems to be a little tension between the two.
