In the aftermath of the viral Will Smith-Chris Rock controversy at the 94th Oscars, Lakers legend Shaquille O’Neal has now expressed his view. In fact, Shaq has sympathized with both concerned parties but has condemned the joke. The 50-year-old has also offered a valuable piece of advice to Will and his wife Jada. And it comprises only four words.

One of the greatest stars in the history of the game, Shaquille O’Neal is no stranger to altercations. During the course of his glittering career, the starlet had plenty of standoffs; even with his own teammates at times.

Yet, he managed to overcome everything to produce the results when it mattered most. But what did he have to say about the saga that unfolded at the Academy Awards?

Shaquille O’Neal offers a four-word message to Jada and Will Smith

Presenting an award, comedian Chris Rock spotted 53-year-old Will Smith and his wife Jada in the audience. In what was meant to be an innocent joke, he went on to say“Jada, I love you. G.I. Jane 2, can’t wait to see you.”

For the next few seconds, everything seemed okay, as even Will was seen laughing at first. Following this, however, the ‘King Richard’ star walked up and smacked Rock, before returning to his seat and yelling, “Keep my wife’s name out your f**king mouth!” Later on in the night, Smith went on to win the award for ‘Best Actor’ for his portrayal of Richard Williams.

Post what unfolded, both Smith and Rock have condemned what occurred during the event. And O’Neal, who addressed the issue on his ‘Big Shaq’ podcast, offered some words to the couple. He said, “No no he laughed and then Jada did like this. That’s when the PPL kicks in. Because all you married guys know – Unhappy wife, unhappy life.”
