Shaquille O’Neal and his gliterring career in the NBA need no introduction. He is also a successful businessman, philanthropist and a popular media personality.

Another talent of Shaq is his DJ skills. Popularly known as DJ Diesel, he has performed in major music festivals around the world.

In the popular web series, ‘Life of Shaq’, Shaquille O’Neal’s daily life and adventures are portrayed. In the seventh episode of the second season, we get a look into his music studio and his team.

Shaquille O’Neal talks about his crew

At the beginning of the episode, we can see Shaq enjoying himself and spinning some tracks in his personal studio. He then introduces us to his music crew starting with his producer Brian.

When asked about his crew, Shaq tells us about his team and the role they play. He also lets everyone know about the disgust he has for yes men.

As Shaq says,” A lot of people like me, they just have yes guys. I don’t have yes guys, everybody in my crew works, they have a purpose.”

Team Shaq as they are called, are a group of close friends who have helped Shaq in his music career. O’Neal has a lot of respect for his team as he says he wouldn’t have been anywhere if not for his team.

Who is DJ Diesel ?

Shaquille O’Neal goes by the name of DJ Diesel while performing and his songs and performances are hugely popular. It is interesting to note that Shaq’s music journey started way before he made his entry into the NBA.

While in college, Shaq began performing while playing for the Cole High School in San Antonio. He developed a love for DJing and rap music in particular.

He released 6 music albums and had collaborations with artists like The Notorious B.I.G and Jay-Z. His debut album, “Shaq Diesel”, released in 1993,was an instant hit as it sold more than a million copies and a platinum certification.

Talking to EDM.com, Shaq once mentioned, “Back in the 80s, I was spinning rap, hip-hop, and even R&B.I was that guy on the LSU team spinning in the locker room.”

DJ Diesel has performed in major music festivals around the world and had a tour planned before the pandemic played spoilsport.

While performing in Tomorrowland, he introduced himself as ‘The World’s Largest DJ’ which has hence become a nickname for the former NBA star.
