Each person will have their own unique all-time starting five. These teams are based on people’s personal opinions and assessments. It is rare to see a team being universally accepted or turned down. Green has been one of the most successful players of his generation. On top of being a four-time champion, Green is a four-time All-Star and a one-time Defensive Player of The Year. He has played with some legendary players, be it with the Golden State Warriors, the All-Star teams, or the USA National basketball team.
On the latest episode of his podcast, Draymond Green answered a fan’s question about his all-time starting five. Being a massive fan of Shaquille O’Neal growing up, he named him first on his team. He said, “Shaq at the five, Steph at the one“. After thinking about the positions still left to fill, he stated, “I got LeBron James at the three.”

He took another big pause while wondering whether he wants to go big or keep the lineup small like in the modern NBA. “This is where the eras and stuff gets tricky because what era of basketball am I talking about?” he said, confused. However, he continued by putting San Antonio Spurs legend, Tim Duncan, in the power forward position.
Saving the best for last, Green said, “Did you think I was going to go with anyone other than MJ at the two, you gotta be out of your mind“. However, he said it was a tough decision. “Although I must say Kobe was a very close second,” admitted Green.

There can’t be many complaints with Green’s starting five as it has of some big names. These players are not just among the best in the league’s history, but they are probably the best at their positions. Stephen Curry was an obvious choice for Green as they have spent the entirety of their careers playing for the Golden State Warriors.

Although their relationship was tense, to say the least at the beginning, Green and LeBron James have become good friends since. They have faced each other numerous times at the biggest stages. Tim Duncan was an excellent albeit surprising choice. The Spurs legend is a five-time champion and is widely considered the greatest Power Forward ever.

Shaq was an easy choice for Green as he always looked up to the former Los Angeles Lakers great. The last spot was saved for the main guy on his team, Michael Jordan. While it may look like a straightforward decision, Green found it difficult to leave out Kobe Bryant. All in all, it can be said that Green’s team looks solid on paper.
