Recently NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal received a lot of flak from NBA fans for criticizing young players. A few days back, he also criticized Utah Jazz’s, Donovan Mitchell. Many superstars such as LeBron James and Kevin Durant came forward to defend him following that altercation.

It is true that Shaq might have been a bit too extreme with the criticism. The Diesel still believes he did nothing wrong. In fact, he even posted on his Instagram account to clear the air over his comments a few days ago.

Following Shaq’s comments on Mitchell’s performance, many accused O’Neal of knowing nothing about greatness. Shaq replied, “I know what greatness is. Ain’t nobody playing done what I’ve done besides LeBron  [James] and Steph Curry. I have G14 classification to say what I say. …You betta Google me.”

As Shaq mentioned, he played with some of the best players the league has ever seen. From Kobe Bryant to LeBron James, he has been teammates with a plethora of amazing superstars during his glorious career.

It is only natural for him to compare the current players with the players he once played with. However, criticizing an athlete who is in sensational form is what infuriated NBA fans. Mitchell has led the Jazz to a league-best 14-4 record so far.

Moreover, the Jazz are unbeaten in the last 10 games! As of now, they are looking to be in the perfect position to make a deep playoff run.
