Now, the four-time champion gets candid and reveals his feelings about his divorce, ex-wife Shaunie, and his hopes of finding love again.

It’s been over a year since Shaq’s ex-wife Shaunie married Keion Henderson. The Diesel, also known for speaking his mind, is finding himself amidst controversies, commenting on Shaunie and her decision. And he didn’t spare any details while linking his analogies to his own sport.

Recently, the Grammy award-winning hip-hop star Monica debuted on the radio with her talk show Motalk. And in the very first episode, we get to hear our beloved Shaq as a guest. The two friends had a free-wheeling conversation. During the episode, Shaq and Monica quickly dived deeper into the former’s relationships with his ex-girlfriend and his ex-wife.

In the early half of the episode, Monica asked Shaquille O’Neal, who, according to him, is the perfect, ideal woman. She further goes on to ask if he has seen someone like that already.

And without any hesitation, Shaquille O’Neal remarked he had two perfect women in his life. One is his ex-girlfriend, Arnetta Yardbourgh and the other is his ex-wife Shaunie.

The seven-footer remarked that he messed up both those relationships because he was being “dumb.” This, however, is not the first time that Shaquille O’Neal sadly spoke about ending his relationship with Shaunie.

Speaking of Shaunie, Shaq told Monica he expects Shaunie’s new husband to treat her the way she’s supposed to be treated.

The Big Man also adds that he still loves her, and will continue to protect her and provide for her. He says, “Whatever she[Shaunie] needs, whatever the babies need, I am gonna be there forever,” said Shaquille O’Neal.

He further says, “I’m always there for them. They want to get married and you know find people better than me. I understand that, I accept that. Because it is what we call in my sport a turnover. You’re gonna turn the ball over so you can score and you give another person an opportunity to score, maybe they can score better. I wish her nothing but the best.”
