Fans all around the world wanted to see O’Neal in the WWE. Interestingly enough, the 4 time NBA champion shared the same thoughts as the fans, as he requested the former WWE CEO to organize a match.

In order to give Shaq a good match, there needed to be someone the same size as O’Neal. The fans could not look past Big Show as they desperately waited for a match.

After making a surprise appearance in the Royal Rumble, Shaq requested Vince McMahon to set him up with the World’s Largest Athlete, Big Show. He said, “I’m a little upset. I’ve been wanting Big Show for years. It’s our second time. The first one didn’t go well.”

Shaq further added, “This one, they double teamed us, but hopefully before he retires it will be just me against him. Vince, if you’re listening I’m ready to take on Big Show whenever, wherever — just let me know.”

Safe to say, it would be a match for the ages. The world would witness a 7-foot-1 inch Shaquille O’Neal take on a 7-feet tall Big Show in an epic fight.

Why did Shaquille O’Neal not fight Big Show?
Although the stage was set for a Shaquille O’Neal vs The Big Show battle, the fight never happened. Talking in an interview, the Los Angeles Lakers legend himself addressed the issue. He blamed the organization for never really organizing the fight.
Shaq said, “They kept playing. First, they said it was me and Big Show. Then, they said it was going to be three-on-three. Then, they canceled it, so when they canceled it, I made other arrangements.“

The Big Aristotle was set to make his WWE entry with the fight against The Big Show during WrestleMania 33. Although he did not fight Shaq, The Big Show made an appearance during WrestleMania during the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.
