Shaquille O’Neal is known to have bold takes in the NBA. Shaq recently talked about Stephen Curry in his recent podcast. O’Neal hosts a weekly podcast called ‘The Big Podcast’, on the latest episode titled ‘The Big Brother’, Shaq and Kenny reunite to discuss the NBA in the off-season. They shared a number of anecdotes and predictions for the upcoming season.

Shaq was also asked about the current best player in the NBA, and without hesitation, he named Stephen Curry. O’Neal has always shown his respect for Curry and used him over others like Kevin Durant and LeBron James.

A number of people have started to consider Curry as a legitimate candidate for being one of the greatest after his fourth NBA championship. Curry’s resume is at par with some of the greatest players out there. Steph also claimed the first-ever Magic Johnson Western Conference MVP. In the same season, he also broke Ray Allen’s all-time three-pointer record.

Shaq called him the best player for his incredible shot-making ability. Co-hosts Nischelle Turner and Spice Adams were taken by surprise as he picked Curry over LeBron James and KD. Shaq applauded his ability to make difficult plays and appreciated that he went on from being an underdog to one of the best players ever.

Lakers star Shaquille O’Neal was all praises for Curry on his podcast. Talking about the Western Conference, Shaq mentioned that nobody is going to beat the best player in the world, Steph Curry. To that, Nischelle asked Shaq and was clearly surprised. However, Shaq went on to explain why the Warriors ‘star is one of the best.

Shaq said, “Real ones are recognized by the championships they have. Nobody plays better than Steph Curry. He’s a tough shot-taker tough shot maker. I like where he’s you know, brought his career.”

Shaq went on to appreciate Curry for learning how to call his number and making the important plays alone.?

Stephen Curry played at Davidson, which is not as reputed as other top-tier collegiate programs like Duke or North Carolina. Recruiters thought Curry was a streaky shooter, would be exposed on the defensive end, and felt his size was an issue.?

To that Shaq said, “I love Rocky-type stories. Kenny was highly recruited coming out of New York. I was highly recruited; Steph was not highly recruited. To be able to work that hard and be the best shooter and one of the best players in the league, he gets my props for that.”

Shaquille O’Neal has shared his love for LeBron and KD on many occasions. It is interesting to know that Shaq thinks Curry is a better player than Durant and LeBron.
